Shipping & Returns Policy
We want every Salon Sinks UK Ltd product to reach you safely and in excellent condition. Most of our units are large, fully assembled items, so please read this page before you order.
1. Which policy applies to me?
- Consumers are people buying wholly or mainly for personal use. Sections 2 to 12 apply to you.
- Business customers are people buying wholly or mainly for their trade, business or profession, including salons, clinics and sole traders. Section 13 applies to you. Sections 2 to 6 and 12 apply too.
Any terms we expressly agree in writing with you take priority over this page.
2. Order processing and lead times
- We process your order once payment is confirmed.
- Our lead time is about 2 weeks. We state an estimated lead time at purchase or in your order confirmation.
- Delivery dates are estimates unless we have expressly agreed a specific date with you.
- If there is a delay, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
3. UK delivery
- We deliver to UK addresses, subject to courier and freight availability.
- Charges depend on the size and weight of your order, the delivery location and the service needed. Remote locations or deliveries needing extra handling may need a separate quote.
- Our units are usually supplied fully assembled, so delivery may be by pallet or freight. We will contact you to arrange or confirm delivery where needed.
4. Delivery access: please check before you order
Standard delivery is to an accessible ground-floor delivery point, or the kerbside point stated in your order confirmation, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing before dispatch. You are responsible for making sure doorways, corridors, lifts and access routes can take the packaged unit. Please consider:
- Doorway and entrance widths
- Stairs and steps
- Lifts and corridors
- Parking and loading restrictions
- Upper-floor locations
- Any other access restrictions
Standard delivery does not include carrying the unit upstairs, positioning it in the premises, installation, commissioning, removing doors or fixtures, or removing packaging. If you need any of these, please ask us before ordering. We can provide packaged dimensions and weight on request. Please don’t try to lift or move a large unit without suitable help or equipment.
5. Receiving your delivery
- Check the outer packaging on delivery. Where you can, check the product before the courier leaves.
- If you see damage, note it on the courier’s paperwork and photograph it before removing or throwing away any packaging.
- Please keep the original packaging until you have checked the unit.
- We ask you to report visible damage, missing items or the wrong product within 48 hours where possible, so we can raise it with the carrier. This is a request, not a cut-off for your legal rights. Signing for a delivery doesn’t mean hidden damage is ruled out.
- If you suspect an electrical fault or leak, stop using the unit, disconnect it safely and contact us.
6. Transit damage
Contact us as soon as possible with:
- Your name and order number
- A description of the damage
- Photos of the packaging and the affected part of the product
- Anything else we reasonably ask for
We will assess it and put it right in line with your statutory rights. Where we arrange delivery, the risk of loss or damage stays with us until the goods are delivered to you or your authorised recipient.
7. Faulty, damaged or incorrect products (consumers)
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If yours aren’t, you may have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Depending on the circumstances, these include the right to reject, repair or replacement, and a price reduction or final right to reject. Please contact us promptly. For these cases we will arrange return or collection in line with your statutory rights. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
8. Your right to cancel (consumers)
If you buy from us online, by phone or by another distance method, you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate, other than the carrier) take physical possession of the goods. To cancel, email contact@salonsinks.uk with your name, order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. Please contact us before sending anything back.
- Return the product with all components, accessories and items supplied with it.
- You may inspect the product to check what it is and that it works. If handling beyond what you could do in a shop reduces its value, we may deduct that from your refund.
- You must take reasonable care of the goods and pack them securely for return.
- Unless we’ve agreed otherwise, you pay the direct cost of returning the goods. Our products are large and heavy, so this may cost more than a standard parcel. We recommend a tracked, insured service.
9. Made-to-order and personalised products
The 14-day right to cancel may not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. We will make clear before you order where a product is genuinely bespoke. This does not affect your rights if a bespoke product is faulty, damaged or not as described.
10. Installed, altered or modified products
Please contact us before returning a product that has been installed, altered or modified. Installing or using a product doesn’t remove your rights for a genuine fault. We may not be responsible for faults caused by incorrect installation, misuse, unauthorised changes, accidental damage or not following the supplied instructions.
11. Refunds (consumers)
- Where you cancel under section 8, we refund you without undue delay. This is no later than 14 days after we receive the goods back (or after you give evidence you’ve sent them, if earlier). If we’ve offered to collect, it is no later than 14 days after we’re told you want to cancel.
- The refund includes our standard outbound delivery charge. Extra paid for an enhanced or premium delivery service may not be refundable.
- We refund to the original payment method unless we agree otherwise.
- We may hold the refund until we have the goods or evidence they’ve been sent back, where the law allows.
12. Failed deliveries
Please give us accurate delivery details and make sure someone is available to receive the delivery. If delivery fails because of incorrect information, unsuitable access, your absence or another issue within your control, we may charge the reasonable extra delivery, storage or redelivery costs. We’ll tell you the charges and agree them with you before arranging another delivery. We won’t charge these where the failure is ours or our carrier’s.
13. Business customers
This section applies to purchases made wholly or mainly for business use. The 14-day consumer cancellation right does not apply.
- Contract: This page forms part of a business order where it was made available to you before you ordered. Your quotation and order confirmation also apply.
- Delivery: Standard delivery ends at the accessible kerbside or ground-floor point named in your order confirmation. We’ll confirm unloading arrangements and whether you need to provide handling equipment before dispatch.
- Cancelling an order: After we accept an order, cancelling for a change of mind needs our written agreement. Any cancellation charge will be agreed in writing and reflect only our reasonable unrecoverable costs. We don’t automatically keep all payments. Custom dimensions or finishes can make cancellation harder, but this doesn’t affect remedies for faulty goods.
- Change-of-mind returns: We don’t offer these as of right. We may agree one at our discretion. If we do, we’ll confirm in writing the return deadline, how the refund is calculated and any handling costs before you send anything. Goods must normally be unused, complete, well packaged and resaleable. You pay the agreed return transport.
- Faulty or incorrect goods: You may have rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979. We’ll investigate and provide the right remedy, which may be repair, replacement or a refund. We’ll meet reasonable collection or return costs for valid claims. Where you have a legal right to reject, you don’t have to arrange the return yourself.
- Preparing a return: Before transport, safely disconnect the unit, drain water containers and hoses, and clean and secure the components. Use the original packaging where suitable. Not having it doesn’t invalidate a genuine fault claim.
- Refunds: For an agreed return, we aim to refund within 14 days of finishing our inspection, to the original payment method. We’ll explain any deduction. If you disagree, contact us and we’ll review it.
- Risk: For a return you arrange, you bear the risk of transit damage until we receive it. For an accepted fault claim using our instructed carrier, we bear it.
14. Product use and care
Follow the supplied instructions for installation, electrical supply, operation, cleaning and maintenance. Stop using any unit you suspect has a safety fault. Contact us before arranging third-party repairs where practical. We aren’t responsible for damage caused by misuse, unsuitable installation, accidental damage, unauthorised changes or not following instructions, but only to the extent those things caused the problem.
15. Your statutory rights
Nothing on this page excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under UK law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
